A Payroll Assistant is a vital employee who will keep the smooth daily running of operations within payroll and registrations. This role requires ownership of the payroll process from start to finish.
Main duties and responsibilities are but not limited to:
* Managing busy inboxes, high volume of calls and coordinating busy workload
* Dealing with timesheets, invoices and pay queries
* Creating and importing CSV spreadsheets with hours and hourly rates onto Merit (payroll system)
* Allocating wages to correct workers
* Liaising and closely working with registrations team
* Producing reports in relation to the weekly payroll
* Producing payment schedules for payments
* Covering Payroll Manager in their absence
* Reviewing client billable expenses and processing the weekly payroll, ensuring all figures balance
* Dealing with all aspects of statutory payments and deductions
* Processing information for external third parties, such as Child Support Agency, DWP and Court Orders
* Advising employees on PAYE and NIC matters
* Ensuring all RTI submissions and Pension Contribution files are exported
* Assisting registrations team as and when necessary
* Prior to providing personal information to a third party, a worker’s consent must be obtained
* Always adhering to the company’s policies and procedure
