Job Purpose:
As a Property Accountant, you will oversee the financial aspects of the properties assigned to you, including tenant billing, service charge budgets, reconciliations, and audit management. Your role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Raise rent, service charge, and insurance demands promptly and accurately
* Generate invoices for various fees and charges
* Collect turnover data and calculate amounts due in accordance with leases
* Prepare completion statements for tenancy events
* Manage service charge budgets, reconciliations, and audit processes
* Support insurance renewal and billing procedures
* Conduct quarterly analysis of rental income and landlord costs
* Ensure billing accuracy through regular meetings and review processes
* Provide income analysis for loan covenant reporting and monitoring
* Collaborate with finance team on audits and respond to queries as needed
Performance Measures:
* Accurate and timely billing of tenants and landlords
* On-time delivery of service charge budgets and reconciliations
* Accurate and prompt preparation of completion statements
* Timely reporting and analysis of rental income and landlord liabilities
* Accurate completion of bank reconciliations
* Positive feedback from colleagues and stakeholders
Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Proven experience in property accounting or similar role
* Proficiency in property management systems and financial software
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Knowledge of lease agreements and property regulations
